Cello Gym

Lucy is part of the core delivery team for Royal Birmingham Conservatoire's exciting new touring project: Cello Gym. In partnership with music hubs across the UK, professional cellists Matthew Sharp, Nick Stringfellow and Lucy Samuels deliver a high-energy, fast-paced and exciting workshop for any cellist from Grade 2 up to Diploma level to participate in a unique cello workout with massed cello ensemble.

Snappy Opera

Lucy also enjoys freelance work with Mahogany Opera to faciliate their Snappy Opera projects across the Midlands and the UK. Bringing new commision compositions, professional musicians, and the energy of young people together is an exciting combination - and allows students to engage with opera in an accessible way - breaking down the barriers with the elitisim often associated with this art form.

SoundLab-BRUM

Lucy tutors on the SoundLab programme which is a centre for creative music making for 10-16 year olds. She visits a secondary school fortnightly to work closely with a small group of students, as well as working with all the students on the programme once a month at Symphony Hall.
Her work on this programme enables students to explore their own creativity and make the music that they are passionate about creating.
